iphone4 unlock request!

Hi o2! I recently bought an iphone 4 on Amazon, when purchasing it said locked to o2, which I thought was great because IM on o2. But as Amazon is a UK websites the phone was British, meaning it is locked to o2uk! anychance you could unlock it to o2 republic of Ireland. Or tell me how to unlock it?
