Thanks but unfortunately A) I dont have a non O2 sim yet and B) the procedure I was given can't be used as it is saying
press left arrow key (there isnt one on the phone) press star then left arrow again but you just can't do that on this phone. I brought it to the O2 shop and they told me that if I posted on the forum that you would mail me the correct instructions?
thanks

Hi,
I applied through the online form for my Network Unlock Code, but I don't seem to have received it.
Though I must admit that i received a suspicious looking text from a sender calling itself "o2" (with invesrted commas in the sender's name) rather than the usual 50202 number that sends me all my correspondences from O2, so I assumed that was some phishing text, I deleted it.
Please tell me that the text from "O2" was not a genuine text!
Thanks

yeah, thats the most annoying thing - I never read the text before deleting it - I didn't want to risk opening the text when i didn't recognise the sender!
The top of my home screen on the phone, (which gives a preview of what is in the text when a new text arrives),
said Multimedia settings, please save these settings to your phone.
It then gave the sender as "O2".
The text would have been received, oh probably a week ago,
I can't remember, but I've a feeling that it was Saturday before last.
