Hi,

For a number of months now, the SPIN 1038 app hasn't been working over 3G or Edge.

On app information on the iTunes store, SPIN are saying that this is happening for O2 customers only and is due to O2 changing some of their netowrk settings.

Just wondering if their is something O2 can do about this as I know that other streaming radio stations are affected as well in the TuneIn Radio pro app.

Is the App fully up to date on your phone or is there an update in the APP store for it?

Fully up-to-date according to the App store anyway.

I have tried deleting and reinstalling but this didn't fix the problem.

You will need to log this with the developer of the app in this case, spin south west.... Try a different app like wunder radio this will let you to connect to Spin South West and many other stations

I also have had the same issue with spin 1038 for many months now. It is still not working over 3G, but it works fine over Wifi.

I also have the Wunder Radio app. Spin does not work there either over 3G, and it used to work before (when the spin app was also working).

Any other radio stations in Wunder Radio or other apps work fine.

Is there anything else that O2 can do?

There isn't anything we can do on this side unfortunately. You would need to log this the the app developer.

Isnt this the olde issue of the APN?

@ xavigar are you on an old Advance Price plan

Xavigar, your price plan allows you to use the open.internet APN so could you try changing the APN and then testing it?

No, his plan allows both APN's.

Sounds like the classic internet APN issues It's not app specific, it's particular streams so something on o2's side that blocks these stream types for whatever reason. I remember seeing a megathread about a year ago of people complaining of streams not working, podcasts timing out while on internet but when on Wifi it worked fine, and changing to "open.internet" it also worked fine - and I reported something similar back in August: http://community.o2online.ie/t5/Coverage-Roaming/Streaming-Radio-Problems/td-p/323414 Unluckily, if you're on prepay or a billpay plan not compatible with open.internet, you're well and truly stuck...

Yeah, thats exactly what I thought when I saw the orignal post too.

Strange it was never resolved though, only people that reported the problem were given extra data allowance.

I changed the APN to open.internet and I confirm that it IS working now.

why are o2 STILL blocking certain traffic and apps over internet APN surely this should have been resolved by now.

Dont see why you guys just dont let everyone use open.internet it would help with all the confusion

I can see the technical reasoning behind O2 not wishing to allow everyone to use "open.internet" but why are those who have no choice but to use "internet" forced to endure what ever funny filtering O2 are doing on the "internet" APN?
