I might be imagining things but I thought this was already approved and available

Lol, it's probably something I missed, I'm new to android, smartphones and touch screen  scene. How do I get it? I tried using Kies, but it just says that i already have the up to date version of Froyo

Yep, Gingerbread update went through during September. Now I know they roll out releases like this. So if you do not have it by the first week of Feb let us know.

I tried it last nite and still no good, latest version of froyo is all that comes up on kies

So it says in one of your posts from December that 2.3.4 has already been approved along with a maintenance update, and your most recent post says that a Gingerbread update has been approved.

What version of Gingerbread can we expect to get considering that the 2.3.4 update hasn't come through yet?

The first one was approved and then it was rejected as a problem was found with it later on. We pulled it and started the testing process again. The newest one will work fine once available for download.

6 weeks! Is there any other way of getting this update? My phone has been running really slow for the last month or so, and I was hoping this update might speed things up

Their might be other ways that I cannot talk about but Google might help.

Hey guys, just so people are aware, the update is now out, I updated mine last night.

First I got an update for Kies, after that I got the firmware update for the Mini.

Gingerbread 2.3.6 FTW!!

I was hoping that the update would speed up my phone and help with the battery life, but it seems to have made both worse :/

Think I'm gonna shop around for a new phone.

Thats no good at all!!

Mine seems a little slower, but i think thats mainly due to having too many apps stored on the phone rather than the actual update, I'll need to sort that....

I like the new time and battery display, and the battery seems to have improved a bit.

However I don't like the way the swipe locking mechanism got smaller!!

Overall I'm pretty pleased with the update

Your swipe locking mechanism got smaller? Its the same as usual for me. Odd lol

The time and battery display is nice, so is the new layout for text messages, it looks much neater as well. I'm gonna keep the phone for a few weeks, till I find a Sony I like
