Alternative to Galaxy Nexus on O2

Hi

Is there an equivalent phone to the Galaxy Nexus with similar specs being released on O2? similar to the HTC desire with the first nexus.

Really want the galaxy nexus but will settle for a similar phone if there is one

Re: Alternative to Galaxy Nexus on O2

Hi Glenfarne,

O2 don't have anything comparable yet, hopefully they will be getting the Razr and hopefully in both flavours soon. This is honestly the only phone out there that is worth a serious look. When it gets ICS then it will be heads ans shoulders above anything else.

Galaxy S II is a great phone, but in phone terns old tech >:¬}
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5ffb9tAH3o is a comparrison between the razr and nexus, now once ics comes to the razr it will destroy the competition.

Re: Alternative to Galaxy Nexu

what about sensation xe?

ICS is to be released by HTC by end of March. Might have to debrand to get it then though?

Re: Alternative to Galaxy Nexu

We're hoping to have our branded versions of ICS pretty close to the debranded release dates, I'll be updating the below thread with the details as they come available.

Hi Shena,

Sorry what do you mean by "your own branded versions of ICS"?

Re: Alternative to Galaxy Nexu

I mean the version of ICS that has O2 products and services built in or provisioned, as opposed to the stock versions.

Ok, the apps with the simcard pack????

Not some horrible version of the US carrier type of bloatware that gobbles battery and resources even when not turned on, but thankfully gets unistalled the moment root gets applied >:¬}

Re: Alternative to Galaxy Nexu

No no no, things like when you dial *111# your allowance pops up, or how the customer care numbers are often already saved in the phone for you. They're very small changes to the stock update, but they make the experience much richer for customers.

Every network does their own, some will have built in apps or preset homepages, but we like to keep it simple and fresh. Android is great as it is, no need bloat it out I reckon!

But I'm a diehard Droidhead so maybe I'm biased! :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Alternative to Galaxy Nexu

Once again Sheena thanks,

When I first read the post I was trembling that my fav carrier was going to stick all kinds of crap in there.

Regards

Alex
