Samsung S5570 Galaxy Mini Phone

Hi

Does the Samsung S5570 Galaxy Mini Phone work in the US?

If it does work in the US - does the Wifi work when you are there and would I be charged if I used wifi when there or is it free? I am a pre pay customer.

Yes it will work, As for the charges as long as you are connecting to free WiFi there are no charges.

Would it be the same situation with the Samsung S3850 Genio II?

I am trying to decide which one of these to buy!

Someone at work said their boyfried was charged €800 for using Wifi  on their phone while abroad but they must not have been using free wifi

The Samsung S3850 is a quad band phone as well so it would have no problems in the USA. WiFi would always be free to use, no matter what phone is used, but your boyfriend may have moved out of the WiFi range and so it might have connected to the network then.

I suggest turning off data completely on your phone so that you can only use it on WiFi, that way you don't have to worry about charges.

In my opinion, the Galaxy Mini is better. The camera is better and it can support up to 32GBs extra memory with a micro SD card.

But it is all down to personal preference, so I suggest checking out online reviews like on GSMarena.com or Gizmodo.com. You can also check in the O2 stores if they have a demo phone that you can actually try out in store and see how it feels for you.
