No internet or MMS on SE Xperia 8

Hi,

I was unable to send picture messages on my new phone, went to o2 shop and it was fixed but when I got home I realised I couldn't send or receive emails, I fixed this but then was again unable to send picture messages. This morning couldn't do either, went back to o2 shop was unable to fix picture messaging and fixed emails, 2 hours later again neither would work. Please, please help, I some some distance from shop and can't keep driving up there.

Hi mslwir, I have checked your account and I have refreshed your MMS settings, can you power your phone off and on please... Also can you have a look at the below link and make sure that the settings are set up correctly on the account..

Hi Colette,

I have checked the settings and they are all the same as per link, the only difference I have an extra setting at the end

"APN:  default,mms,supl"

My emails are now downloading but picture messages are still being "queued for sending when service becomes available"

How many bars have you on your account? Are you working off £g or Edge? Can you remove what is written in the box beside the APN, as advised in your above post and turn the phone off and on, see if this works... Thanks, Colette

I have full bars and think it's edge has an "E" beside bars.  I done as you asked, deleted text in APN setting and turned phone off and back on.  Picture mesages still going to queue and now no emails, they've gone and ccannont connect.

Can you power off your handset and test it in an hour, it should work for you then.

Lisa tried that, pic messages are still going to queue and email is still working fine.

Can you try your sim card in another phone?

yes was able to send pic message from another phone.

since changing my sim back to my own phone it has started to send pic messages

Unfortunately it seems to be a handset issue if it works in another handset.

I think so too Lisa, it seems to work one minute and stop again. When I put the sim back into my own phone it sent one pic message and again and sent the next one for queue.  I've just noticed something and have tested it.  When the settings on my email are to "check for mail every 5 mins"  I can't send pic messages but when I change them to "Never Check" I am then able to send pic messages.  Strange!!

That is very strange, so it works for you when you change this setting?

Yes but my phone no longer checks for emails I have to manually pull them in by pressing the refresh button.

If you are not happy with this I would advise to take the phone to an O2 Store to be sent for repair.

I will bring it back to the store I purchased it in, it seems to be one or the other with this phone.  Thanks for all your help Lisa and Colette too.
