I am visiting Ireland and have an O2 pre-paid SIM in my AT&T HTC Tilt 2 Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone. I would like to have Internet access as well. I spoke with an O2 rep yesterday who told me that in order to purchase a block of data service, text NET to 50231 for 700MB for 9.99 for 30 days, then switch phone off/on. I have done this. The rep also said she would text me the data network config, however I never received the config. How do I config my Tilt 2 to use the O2 data network?

Thank you for the reply.
My phone did not automatically set up the data connection when I turned on the phone for the first time. So, I've been searching for the appropriate settings to manually configure the data connection. I found this posting:
Based on the above, I created a connection with the following parameters:
Select a modem: Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)
Access point name: internet
User name: <blank>
However, when I start Internet Explorer and attempt to access www.google.com, I get the message "Sorry - HTTP request was interrupted by the host!" and the URL listed in the address bar is http://cpv.trust5.com/ms/o2m/site/xhtml/datastatus
Can you confirm what are the correct settings for the data connection?
The posting above also refers to a link which is supposed to be a utility by which a subscriber can request to have the data connection settings sent to his/her phone, however, I get "java.io.IOException" when I attempt to access the referenced link.
When I spoke with the O2 representative yesterday, she said she would send the data connection settings to my phone via text message, however, I never received them. Is there a way to have the correct data connection settings sent directly to my phone?
Thank you for your assistance.

Thank you, again, for the reply.
I changed the APN to pp.internet, however when I tried to access http://m.o2.ie/ I got the same error message "HTTP request was interrupted by the host!". This time, the URL in the address line was still http://m.o2.ie/.
I noticed that this appears to be an open issue based on:
Is there any update on the ticket (reference: 1264518) mentioned in the above thread?
I was able to confirm that the network connection is working by (1) running the Google Maps application and viewing a location I've never seen before and (2) retrieving my email once (however, I've received several connection failures after successfully retrieving my email).
