CONTINUITY/SUBSCRIPTION MERCHANT

I checked my credit card bill only to see a payment of €20.64 was taken from it last week and I've no idea what that's about.

 

It's listed as a "CONTINUITY/SUBSCRIPTION MERCHANT" for the value of €20.64  ?

 

 

Could someone check it out for me please and advise what this is about?

Is there any particular reason that you think it might be from O2? There are no payments on your account for that amount.

Continuity merchant subscription means that you will be billed on a regular basis for a recurring service or regular product deliveries. They bill usually on a monthly basis, sometimes in other cycles - from weekly to yearly to by-yearly - you got the picture. Now try to find out if you ever subscribed to such a service. If you're sure you didn't, contact your credit card company immediately. Hope it helps.

Well unless its to do with all the drama I had at the end of february / start of march re changing my price plans.

 

I had been told I could do one thing, then told no I had to do it another way and I would have to order a new sim card .. so I ordered it only then to be told by another rep I shouldnt have ordered a new card as it gave me a new number.  They placed a cancel on it and I returned the card as soon as it arrived and nothing more happened.

 

Until this ..

 

so I'm now going to have to start chasing it all again? assuming that's what it's linked to?

There are no payments on the account I have here for you with that amount or date, do you have another account with O2?

No, just the current phone account.

 

Even if it had been the other sim that was ordered in error, that number would show for you now wouldnt it?

 

 

ok, any advice as to what I do now?

because I'm sure the credit card company will want something also ...

Its not a silly question because after posting the message I panicked and went and looked incase I read it all wrong. 

 

Its showing as a debit (payment taken) and i made sure by checking against payments made to the card so that I could be positive.

Well contact your cc company and ask them for as much details as they have on the transaction. Then bring it to O2 as it's clearly a charge from O2.
