Re: O2 Boadband fail

WCDMA is more often what it's on the past few weeks. i get the odd evening (usually once a week) where i seem to be able to get HSPA for a couple of hours. have only had one evening since Christmas (and that was last Tues/Weds) where I had full decent service.

Upload Speed: 873 kbps (109.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

Did one earlier and the dl speed was 567kpbs but the speed test is usually decent-ish.

Re: O2 Boadband fail

There is no known issues in the area at the moment, it is strange that it is only happening at that time of the night with both the phone and laptop... You will need to do a speed test as per the link I posted above and I will also need to get some examples of calls that are made when this disturbance happens dates, times and numbers called...Once we have this information, we can log this with our technical team and see what we can find out...

Re: O2 Boadband fail

I have checked this and for your area you are getting an acceptable speeds and unfortunately we are unable to improve this.

Speed can vary due to the amount of users on a mast at any time but should not be below the acceptable level.

I am sorry there is nothing further that I can do at this time...

Re: O2 Boadband fail

Just out of interest, what does it need to dip to to become 'unacceptable'? Also just because O2 considers that acceptable does not mean its customers do. I realise this complaint is not your fault but do the posts on this forum get logged as formal complaints or do i need to write separately to O2 customer care?

Re: O2 Boadband fail

It the speeds were under 500 then we would look at this further but for the service we provide the speeds you are getting are acceptable... I am sorry that you feel this way but there is nothing we can do to help increase this at the moment...

Re: O2 Boadband fail

Does that mean that this issue is not part of the general issues being discussed on this forum? Just odd that it's been happening during the same period of time...Thanks for your responses this evening btw.

Re: O2 Boadband fail

If you were hit with the broadband issue that we have at present you wouldn't be able to connect to the internet... Is this happening at any time?

Re: O2 Boadband fail

Not any more no. It was happening until earlier in January. Have been able to connect since then just with super slow speeds (will make sure i get some screen shots of the under 500kpbs service!! didn't realise there was such a low threshold to acceptable service). thanks, will take this offline now.

Re: O2 Boadband fail

did a speed test
Download Speed: 2417 kbps (302.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 460 kbps (57.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 113 ms
04 February 2012 01:21:47

i generally have no issue with speed when i have connection, but it's not being able to connect at all for hours at a time is what i have a problem with. I will make note of the time and date it happens again.

Re: O2 Boadband fail

Unable to connect. Have signal but get "error 628" when I attempt. Happened at 1:03 am 7-2-12.

Why hasn't this been fixed? Why can't you give advance warning about this stuff? How are you still operating as a business with this kind of service?

Re: O2 Boadband fail

Lol I read this site from my phone and to be honest its like a script out of a comedy

Yes you are experiencing poor signal in your area but theres nothing we can do about it

Of course you can.
Highlight it to management demand they improve the signal
Trend the examples received and forward to technicians in all affected areas see if anything can be done
Stop fobbing customers off with robotic and very annoying replies
Accept the feedback from the customers who took the time to provide it which allows your company to improve upon the poor service reported
If there is congestion put up another mast to cope with the customer base
Dont take on any new connections until the service issue is resolved for current customers if congestion is the issue
Dont ask customers to ring the helpline knowing that the issue generally occurs after midnight when the helpline is closed

Just a few ideas and no i dont work for 02 either

Re: O2 Boadband fail

Had to add its a Vodafone phone im using
02 should note what areas have the most congestion automatically without us having to report it and be proactively fixing this issue

I had a dongle from vodafone that i lost but replaced it with 02
Sincerely regretting that decision now
Never had any bother with congestion or disconnection with them

Re: O2 Boadband fail

I lost my connection again tonight from 1am to 4am, 3 solid hours.

I made a call and sent a text no problem, but neither phone nor wireless would connect.

IMG_0104.PNG

IMG_0119.PNG

Have inserted 2 screen shots from my iphone to show that i had no connection for 3 hours but had fine reception.

I'm going to ring customer service tomorrow to complain because this has been going on for 3 months or more, coupld of nights a week and it's just unacceptable at this stage.

Re: O2 Boadband fail

Lost connection also at 1:00am till 4:00am. Was playing Xbox then it went out. It's a real inconvenience  since I was invited to a game by  few people then I'm gone like the wind.

2nd time this month this happened in the early hours.

Re: O2 Boadband fail

Guys just to let you know as per Sheena's post about this yesterday. This was the final outage. I will wait for a report to be sent through later this morning but this should be the end of the night time outages.
