Upgrade Query

Hi, i need to know when i'll be due an upgrade (i know at the end of my contract but that's what i need to know)

Also i heard someone mention something akin to buying an upgrade? Is this rubbish or true? If so how much would an Galaxy Ace or S1 be on this please and thanks!

I'm assuming you can't use your broadband modem number to claim an upgrade?

Re: Upgrade Query

Hi

You will have an upgrade in one months time. You can't use your broadband towards your phone upgrade.

The Ace would be €49.00 and the Samsung S1 is €99.00.

Re: Upgrade Query

Hi,

thanks for this - great prices. sorry to be a pain but if i buy the S1 on my upgrade can i change to an all in plan at that point?

Also i want to get the ace also for someone else who is on o2 - this is €209 ya? (not the purple one)  How much is the S2?

sorry for pestering you with this but as i'm not eligible for the upgrade i can't see what prices they would be!

Re: Upgrade Query

The S2 is €149.00. Yes when you go to upgrade either online or instore you will have to change to one of the All in plans then.

Re: Upgrade Query

Hi Lisa,

i see in the shop section it says i can get an upgrade on my broadband number ( is this just so i can see the prices or can i upgrade now?)

Also just on the all in price plan. the lowest one is €20/month with 150mb data. When can i find out how much data i normally use on my phone a month? i can only see current month.

Also if i opt for the 2gb bundle of data add on for €10 does this come to €25 a month if i remove the 150 mb data (thus taking off €5 a month) i know that seems like strange maths but that is what the your explanation seems to say?

thanks,

J

Re: Upgrade Query

You can use your upgrade in an O2 store on the broadband, you can see the prices online.

You use 603MBs per month based on an average over the past three months.

For 2GBs you add €10.16 to the total (as the 2GB bundle is usually €15.24). 700MBs would suit you though, so then the plan would be €25.40 per month in total.

Re: Upgrade Query

Hi Sheena,

having a prob with this. O2 store can't give me a phone on this upgrade as they say it's broadband only. I can do it online but the all in 150 isn't in the list of contracts it's offering me to commit to?

confused? I want to get the Samsung SII and sign my phone number up to the All in 150 plan with 2gb mobile broadband add in and leave my home broadband 15gb plan as is.

thanks,

J

Re: Upgrade Query

Yes, as we said above you can't use your broadband upgrade on a phone. The All In 150 plan is not available when you upgrade to a smartphone.

You can upgrade your broadband number to get a new broadband modem, you can't get a phone with it.

We can change the plan on your mobile for you to All In 150 with 2GB but we can't approve an upgrade on that number yet. Hope that clears up the confusion.

Re: Upgrade Query

Given that i was asked about phone prices surely common sense would tell you that i want to know when i can upgrade my phone.

So to restate the question. When can i upgrade my phone?

I already use a smartphone and am on €40 a month for 150 minutes, 150 texts and unlimited internet.

You say i use on average 603mb so in order to avoid going over 700 mb isn't enough in my opinion. so in order to get 2gb data and the minimum of minutes and texts i'll have to pay €10 more a month on the all in plans to move from a smartphone to a different smartphone. so getting screwed to the tune of €10 p/m x 18 months means you make €149 for the phone plus €180 in extra tarriffs. so that's €330 it'll cost me

or i could just move to meteor and get the phone for €179 and get the same price bundle including 2gb data and 400 minutes and texts. so that option costs me €179 and is looking good right now. so maybe my question should be when can i move from o2?

Re: Upgrade Query

You upgraded the phone last August so it would be another year before an upgrade is ready on your phone.

Re: Upgrade Query

So in other words Sheena from what i see on this forum and boards to name a few i will be one of the many many long time o2 customers who will be forced by o2 to leave at the end of my current contract to move to another provider due to the insulting new plans being forced on people (and by people i of course mean anyone that isn't buying a iphone 4s from o2 as they clearly are the only customers o2 are interested in)

Please advise what date in August i will need to cancel my contract on

Re: Upgrade Query

You don't have to change your plan when you're upgrading if you're already on a data inclusive plan, which you are. You can keep your unlimited data plan, that's no problem. Your contract ends on 07/08/2012.

Yes, although I'm sure that by August the phone would be cheaper.
