Personal Hotspot on Iphone 4S - Where did it go

Hey

Has anyone noticed that the Personal Hotspot has been removed from the Settings option on the iphone 4S. This only happened in the last few days, i have not upgrade the IOS (current version is 5.1.1) or made any other changes. I have used this feature as recently as last week.  I tried to reset the network settings as indicated in certain posts but no joy

Try a soft reset. Home button and Sleep/Wake button held down together until the Apple logo appears.

If that doesn't work then sync with iTunes

Thanks for the response, neither of these steps worked, i think this has been modified by an OTA update from O2

Apple wouldn't allow that.
Are you Billpay or prepay?

I am a Billpay customer for a number of years now, i have been able to tether for at least the last 2 years, i rememberat some point in the last 2 years O2 introduced an iPhone firmware update (patch) to allow tethering so they do have some control over the localised versions of the firmware on handsets they provide for upgrades/new customsrs.  e.g. vodafone in ireland do not enable the personal hotspot by default and is an extra charge. However no one else seems to be complaining on this topic online so it seems unlikely that it is something O2 have done, I have an  iphone backup from a few weeks ago i will restore from it and see does this help

No joy, the Personal Hotspot option still not available in my settings, even after restore of previous backup.

Did you reset the settings?
Tap Settings > General, then scroll down and tap Reset > Reset Network Settings.
